Practicing the pause…

Life has a way of teaching us what we need to know. Sometimes the lessons are utterly painful and sometimes they are easy-peasy 🍋squeezy. This year I will hit a big birthday (I think all birthdays are a big deal, but this one is especially big per society’s opinion🤪), and it has me pondering/taking inventory of what some of my greatest moments/lessons have been thus far. Want to hear them? Stop rushing through your life, slow your roll and enjoy it. I really think that this one has been my most profound lesson to date. Well, this one too, be grateful. Living with gratitude changes everything. Your whole world can change in a split second, look around and take it all in. Show & tell the people who mean the most to you how you feel every chance you get, it may be the last time they hear it and the last opportunity for you to say it. Don’t hold onto anger/resentment/frustration/grudges, they only keep you unhappy & unwell. Make your peace the priority, if you are at peace, life is way easier to live. This one shouldn’t have to be said, but I’ll say it anyway, be kind. Get outside as much as you can, nature has a special way of making it all better 🌱 and last but definitely not least, know that you are enough just as you are.

Now, more about practicing the pause. This year started off with some massive upheaval and deconstructing for me personally. One 5-10 minute Teams call changed my world (as I had know it for the last 8 years) and forced me to make some decisions. I won’t lie and say that it didn’t challenge me and leave me in an unhappy heap on the floor for a little while🥴, but necessity is the mother of invention as they say, so I decided to pause and really think about what I wanted my next chapter to look & feel like. Doing this, this intentional slowing down, pausing instead of rushing headlong into another thing that wasn’t truly aligned with my true-self changed everything.
